My youngest son Alex was doing so well. He knew exactly when he needed a wee or a poo. He is 3 and a half years old and we started potty training about 3 months ago.

As I said, he was doing well. Then, about 2 weeks ago, he started wee'ing and poo'ing in his trousers and today, when I came home from work he was standing in the kitchen, bent over a chair, doing a poo in his trousers. This wasn't a little poo either, it was grown-up sized logs out the trouser leg onto the floor.

It has to be said, he has had a cold for 2 weeks too, and as a result neither Kim or I have had full nights of sleep for a while. Anyway, He was bent over the chair, having a nice poo and I blew a gasket!

Next to the chair, right there on the floor, stood the gleaming clean, post box red, comfortable, quality brand potty.

I love my kids.
